A recent blog post on the official Forza website has revealed that Forza Horizon 5 will perform best on the PS5 Pro thanks to full support from Xbox Game Studios.
It was announced in January that the former Xbox exclusive would be arriving on current-gen Sony consoles, and now we know that the launch date is set for April 29, 2025.
While this will be viewed as a welcome development by all PlayStation 5 owners, those who have the Pro system will be able to enjoy the ultimate Forza Horizon 5 experience with improved visual fidelity in Performance Mode and ray-traced car reflections in Quality Mode.
The popular racer will feature two graphics options across all PlayStation 5 models, with Performance Mode targeting 60fps and Quality Mode targeting 30fps. However, the visual fidelity and ray-tracing enhancements will only apply to the PS5 Pro.
Despite there being no plans to release a physical edition of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5, excitement is still building nicely as it becomes a best-seller on the PlayStation store ahead of launch.
The upcoming Horizon Realms update celebrates the Forza series' long-awaited debut on PlayStation, introducing 12 evolving locations to the game. Players will also be able to acquire new vehicles through the updated Accolade Tab, including the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto, 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430, and 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6x6.
Additionally, crossplay will also be enabled once Forza Horizon 5 lands on PS5, allowing PlayStation and Xbox gamers to hit the road together as they explore Mexico's open world. A fitting way to top off an exciting release!
