PS5 owners are excited to try Forza Horizon 5 now that the acclaimed racer is no longer an Xbox exclusive. Unfortunately, this comes with a price: The driving sim will not have a physical version of Sony’s current-gen system. Given how quickly these games get delisted, fans are worried about its longevity on Sony’s console.

The game’s official X account confirmed that a physical version of this racing sim isn’t planned for PlayStation 5. When a fan asked about the whereabouts of a physical copy, the account simply said a disc release wasn’t planned. This is disappointing but not surprising, as various Xbox releases on PS5 don’t have physical copies.

Fans hope Forza Horizon 5 gets a physical copy through a company like Limited Run Games, which is working on a disc copy of Hi-Fi Rush. It’s worth noting that there hasn’t been news on that version for a while, so fans hoping for that might be wasting their time. Only time will tell if interest in a Forza 5 physical copy is high enough, but things can always change.

Many fans will remember how Forza Horizon 4 was de-listed not too long ago, which upset many Xbox and PC players. While Xbox Series owners can always buy a physical copy, everyone else won’t be able to access this acclaimed game. That’s the unfortunate reality of games with plenty of licensed products, so expect something similar for Horizon 5.

Considering how Forza Horizon 5 has Barbie DLC and the other licensed cars already in the game, things might not look good for this racing sim. Luckily, Forza Horizon 6 hasn’t been announced yet, though many fans have assumed it’s a matter of time. Hopefully, the PS5 getting Xbox games late means this fifth game can last longer on Sony’s console.

Forza Horizon 5 is coming to PS5 on April 29. The game is readily available on Xbox Series and PC.
