Oh, how times have changed. Forza Horizon 5, which has remained a Microsoft racing exclusive since its release four years ago, is now making its way to Sony’s PlayStation 5 on April 29, 2025.
But this isn’t just a simple re-release—the PlayStation 5 version will include crossplay and a substantial update packed with new racing content. Unfortunately, there will not be a physical copy.
The upcoming Horizon Realms update celebrates the Forza series’ long-awaited debut on PlayStation—a move few would have predicted. It introduces 12 evolving locations, including:
- Stunt Park
- Ice Rink
- Oval Track
- Summer Party
- Neon Airstrip
- Día de Muertos
- Winter Wonderland
- Lunar Drift Arena
- Retrowave Highway
- Cars and Coffee
- Stadium Maze
These locations were previously available for a limited time but will now become permanent additions to the Horizon Stadium Circuit.
Beyond new locations, the update also expands the game’s car roster. Players can acquire new vehicles through the updated Accolade Tab, which now rewards four additional cars:
- 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto
- 2023 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato
- 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430
- 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6x6
Players can choose between three editions of the game: Standard ($59.99), Deluxe ($79.99), and Premium ($99.99). Each version includes different levels of extra content:
- Deluxe Edition: Includes the Car Pass, which unlocks 42 cars (including Formula Drift cars) from the base game.
- Premium Edition offers the most content, including the Car Pass, Hot Wheels DLC, Rally Adventure DLC, a welcome package, VIP membership, and three-day early access.
Lastly, the newly added crossplay feature will allow PlayStation players to race alongside their Xbox friends, making the exploration of Mexico's open-world roads easier than ever.
