Nintendo has released a new update for Mario Kart World in the hope it will fix numerous bugs, glitches, and other stability-related issues.
For the most part, Mario Kart World has been and continues to be enjoyed by millions worldwide following the launch of the Switch 2. However, as is often the case with any newly released game, it hasn't been immune to annoying bugs, including incidents of the game suddenly closing down after playing online.

The latest update for Mario Kart World has arrived, and it will come as a huge relief to players who have been experiencing frustrating game crashes, bugs, and other performance-related issues when taking to the track.
Version 1.1.1 is available to download now and addresses several issues that have been plaguing the game since release, including an unprompted shutdown after racing against others online, items becoming unusable, and players occasionally slipping through the wall before the finish line of DK Spaceport.

Fixed Issues
- Fixed an issue where items were no longer able to be used.
- Fixed an issue where sometimes controls were inoperable when selecting a character and trying to start Free Roam from the "Free Roam" map.
- Fixed an issue where sometimes the game shut down when watching the replay after a race.
- Fixed an issue where sometimes the game shut down after a race in "Online Play."
- Fixed an issue where rate fluctuations were sometimes displayed incorrectly in "Knockout Tour" and "Online Play."
- Fixed an issue where it was easy for a communication error to occur when trying to join Friends playing "VS Race" or "Battle" in "Online Play."
- Fixed an issue where you sometimes slipped through the wall before the finish line of "DK Spaceport."
- Fixed an issue where you sometimes couldn’t return to the correct position after falling off the course between "Airship Fortress" and "Bowser’s Castle" while gliding.

- Ensure your Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected to the internet.
- From the Home Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
