- Primary Subject: Top GT3 Sim Racing Games (2026 Overview)
- Key Update: A roundup comparing the five best GT3 simulators in 2026 highlights Le Mans Ultimate and RaceRoom as major contenders alongside established staples like iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione.
- Status: Confirmed
- Last Verified: September 8, 2026
- Quick Answer: The best GT3 sim depends on your priority: iRacing for competitive online play, Le Mans Ultimate for modern machinery, and ACC for pure driving physics.
SRO and Peter Auto marked GT3's twentieth anniversary this April by launching the GT3 Revival Series for cars homologated between 2006 and 2013.
It's a strange thing to celebrate when the current cars are busy filling the WEC's second class, IMSA's GTD ranks, and roughly half the sim racing calendar. The category is everywhere.
What has changed in 2026 is which games do it properly. One of the biggest GT3 sims has stopped taking new cars. Another has stopped taking anything. Two more had years nobody was predicting.
These are the five I would actually put my time into.
iRacing Still Owns Competitive GT3

Eleven modern GT3 cars sit in the service as of this season, running from the Ford Mustang GT3 and Corvette Z06 GT3.R to the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo that landed in Season 4 of 2025.
The roster matters less than what surrounds it. Nothing else touches the licensing ladder, the iRating and Safety Rating pairing, and daily races firing off around the clock against fields that mostly understand what a mirror is for.
Balance of Performance gets adjusted weekly and per circuit, which stops any one car calcifying into the obvious pick.
The 2026 Season 3 build in June brought a rebuilt Laguna Seca, a fuel calculator and incident tracker in the sim UI, and series-specific rulesets covering driver aid variants.
A career mode and a new graphics engine are both in development, neither with a date attached.
Le Mans Ultimate Has the Most Current GT3 Grid Anywhere

Studio 397's V1.3.3 patch on June 4, 2026 dropped the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, Ford Mustang GT3 Evo and Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo into the game, making LMU the only place you can drive this season's actual LMGT3 machinery.
Ten manufacturers now sit in the class, and the game hit 1.0 back on July 22, 2025 rather than lingering in early access the way its stablemates have.
The pull here is multiclass. Driving a GT3 car in traffic is a completely different discipline from driving one in a single-make grid, and LMU builds around that pressure rather than treating it as a difficulty setting.
I got caught by a Hypercar halfway through the Porsche Curves once and had about a tenth of a second to decide whether lifting or holding my line was the less stupid option. I picked wrong.
It's PC only, and the player base is a fraction of iRacing's. The grid is worth the trade.
Assetto Corsa Competizione Is Frozen and Still the Best Pure GT3 Sim

Kunos has effectively closed the book. Marco Massarutto told Traxion’s Ross McGregor at SimRacing Expo that on the Competizione side the studio is producing the 2025 GT World Challenge livery set and nothing more, because "all the effort of the team is focused on Evo."
That final update shipped the 2025 GTWC Europe season as a standalone championship, complete with Max Verstappen's Ferrari 296 GT3.
What it cannot ship is the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, because that car has never been modeled in ACC. You get an aging grid, and you get the best GT3 driving model anyone has built.
The tire behavior, the electronics, the way the cars talk to you through a long stint, all of it holds up against sims with six extra years of development.
It runs on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, and it gets its ranked structure from third-party platforms like Low Fuel Motorsport rather than anything official.
RaceRoom Racing Experience Had a Year Nobody Called

KW Studios shipped its Summer Update on August 4, 2026, and quietly assembled one of the most current GT3 grids going.
The DTM 2026 Car Pack brought in the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, Ford Mustang GT3 Evo, Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, and the Lamborghini Temerario GT3, the last of those making its sim racing debut before any competitor got near it.
The same update replaced the ancient Flash HUD with a new COSMO interface and added a 2026-spec Nordschleife.
Combined with the ranked multiplayer system that arrived last year, a sim most people had written off as legacy software has turned into a serious GT3 option.
The engine is old, and the visuals show it. Then a GT3 car comes past me on the Nordschleife, and the sound alone explains why I keep forgiving this thing its age.
Gran Turismo 7 Is the Only Real GT3 on a Controller

Polyphony's Gr.3 category is not GT3, and it's worth being blunt about that. It blends genuine homologated cars with fictional entries and older machinery, and its Balance of Performance is a game system rather than a governing body's headache.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) '22 arrived in update 1.67 on January 30, 2026, and drives beautifully. It just isn't competing against a regulated field.
For anyone racing on a pad rather than a wheel, none of that matters much, because there is no real alternative.
Forza Motorsport is finished as a live product, with Turn 10 confirming last December that no new cars, tracks, or features are coming. GT7 keeps shipping.
The Spec IV update lands in two halves, with Kazunori Yamauchi confirming on PlayStation.Blog that "the first arriving in October and the second in December," bringing two circuits, twelve cars, and a further evolution of GT Sophy.
Assetto Corsa EVO Is the Asterisk on All of This
Kunos moved its people onto EVO, so EVO is presumably where GT3 in this house goes next. It's not there yet.
Early access opened January 16, 2025; the 0.9 update on August 26, 2026 added mandatory pit stops and a new slick tire model, but no new GT3 cars, and Kunos said plainly that 0.9 is not the end of the early access program.
Five GT3 cars are in it. Steam reviews sit mixed. Console versions exist only as a plan.
What I Would Install This Week
If you want ranked racing that means something, iRacing is still the only real answer. If you want the cars that are on the grid right now, Le Mans Ultimate has them, and nobody else does.
If you want the best-driving GT3 car in any game and can live with a roster that stopped growing, ACC is on console as well as PC and remains the one I go back to.
RaceRoom is the surprise worth trying, GT7 is the reason to keep a pad plugged in, and EVO can wait until it earns a place on this list.
