Mario Kart World is unquestionably the only first-party racing title available at launch, making it the main highlight. And, for the first time, the series is shifting towards an open-world format, allowing players to explore interconnected circuits, complete challenges, and master new mechanics like rail grinding and wall riding.

Despite all the fresh features that breathe new life into the iconic franchise, it retains its chaotic, family-friendly multiplayer charm.

Fast Fusion ($14.99)

F-Zero GX is returning after nearly two decades and will be available on Switch 2. This restored GameCube classic remains one of the fastest and toughest racing games ever made. The game offers local and online multiplayer, making it a brutal but adored experience.

However, it isn't available for standalone purchase and can only be played via the Nintendo Switch+ Expansion Pack membership that costs $49.99 for a 12-month membership.

Lastly, Kirby Air Raiders is also announced for a future release sometime in 2025.

People may also wonder if any major racing titles will be available. Currently, major racing titles like Gran Turismo and Forza aren't a part of the launch; there's always a chance that third-party developers could bring a version for Switch 2 in future updates.
