Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is finally in stores, to the enjoyment of racing fans all around the globe.

The arcade racing game developed by Milestone S.r.l. marks a new era for the racer as it adapts an open-world scenario for the first time in franchise history.

Four open-world islands, a rich garage, new vehicle classes, unique challenges, and the staple Track Builder feature.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is arguably the most ambitious game in the franchise. But does that ambition pay off?

Transitioning to an open-world scenario was a bold decision, and fortunately, it's one the development team absolutely nailed.

Each one of the four Hot Wheels Infinite Rush islands is unique, featuring distinctive designs, iconic landmarks, and urban centers with dense traffic.

These elements make the islands feel alive and help immerse players in the fast world of Hot Wheels Infinite Rush.

The Track Builder feature returns in Hot Wheels Infinite Rush and is now easier and more intuitive to use. But the best part of this feature is how well the custom tracks you create blend seamlessly with each island environment.

This makes the move to an open-world scenario an even bigger win for the franchise, and something that can definitely be built upon.

Every island is filled with content, including challenges, missions, and time trials, where players can discover the landscape while also honing their skills behind the wheel.

However, while all islands feature an ocean of content, some missions can feel very similar, and most of them aren't that challenging.

In a way, that's a good thing, as it allows players to enjoy the game without pressure, progressing through the missions and challenges at their own pace.

Because of this, players also feel more incentivized to explore the open world, driving to iconic landmarks and taking in the sights, instead of just focusing on the next race or time trial.

However, if you just want to feel the thrill of racing and are always looking for the next challenge to complete, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush also allows you to do that.

The game delivers a great balance between a more laid-back approach and a competitive one, letting you choose how you want to experience the game.

The Richest Garage in Hot Wheels Franchise History

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush lets you choose from a garage of over 150+ vehicles, including Ferraris, with all vehicle models looking astonishing.

Most of those vehicles are waiting to be collected, and you can do exactly that by completing challenges, objectives, and special events.

This is one of the best parts of Hot Wheels Infinite Rush gameplay loop: explore the world, complete a challenge, and earn a new vehicle to add to your collection.

There are four vehicle classes in Hot Wheels Infinite Rush: Versatiles, Titans, Drifters, and Speeders. Each class provides something different, with Drifters giving you more control when drifting, and Speeders reaching higher speeds.

The handling feels vastly different from one another, with Drifters being the most satisfactory cars to drive in Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, in my opinion.

Their handling is fantastic, as they feel like the most responsive car class in the game by a huge margin, which in turn makes them the most enjoyable to drive.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush garage features both new and iconic cars, with the game being capable of appealing to the nostalgia of older fans while also keeping it attractive to new players.

Arcade Gameplay That Keeps You Coming Back For More

The gameplay in Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is addictively fun. It's not overly complicated, but it still features a skill element to go with it, placing it in the sweet spot of arcade racing gameplay.

Each vehicle class is distinctly different from one another, and handling is where that is most obvious. Races are fun and chaotic, and they feature strategic elements that force players to adapt their gameplay.

Online multiplayer is also quite fun, offering different ways to compete with friends or other players alike. It's also the best mode to truly put your skills to the test.

The hardest difficulty will give you a run for your money and is perfect for veteran players of the franchise or the racing genre.

But lower difficulties also allow new players to enjoy a challenge without making races or challenges overly stressful.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush succeeds in tailoring its gameplay for casual, competitive players, and the ones in between. This is something very hard to do, and most games, especially arace racing ones, fail to achieve it.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush nails the open-world transition, with visually rich scenarios featuring iconic landmarks and dense traffic that make the four islands feel alive. The gameplay is fantastic and very addictive, being easy to pick up and play while still providing players with a challenge. The content is endless, even if it can sometimes feel repetitive, which ensures there is always something for players to do. Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is a great start to a new era for the franchise and is a title every Hot Wheels aficionado needs to try.
