The wait is over as the Online Time Trial Competition for Gran Turismo 7 starts today. This Online Time Trial is designed to offer a great racing experience on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout No Chicane.
The challenge has been live since May 22, placing players in a futuristic car from Gran Turismo 6 lore that was designed by Antony Villain and now is redesigned with a rear engine configuration for the latest version.
Gran Turismo 7 Catalunya Daily Race
As mentioned above, the new Gran Turismo 7 Daily Race takes players to the beautiful and iconic city of Barcelona, in the autonomous community of Catalunya.
The Daily Race takes place on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP No Chicane, one of the most popular tracks in modern racing sports, especially for F1 fans. The Alpine Vision Gran Turismo 2017 Gr 1 is the car of choice for this challenge.
The Alpine features soft racing tires, engineered to maximize grip on the chicane-free version of Barcelona's Grand Prix track. In this event, overtaking and wide body kits aren't allowed, so players are dependent on pure skill. To win, a player needs to have an understanding of the Gran Turismo 7 functions.
Currently, top contenders are circling around the 1:38.9 mark, but it's expected to go even lower as the event takes off.
To join the challenge, players need to have unlocked the Sport Mode, which can be done by finishing Menu Book 9 in the GT Café. It's a solo challenge, so no PS Plus subscription is required, only you, the Alpine, and the stopwatch. This is perfect for you, no matter if you want leaderboard fame or additional credit bonus.
