- Primary Subject: Comprehensive overview of Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.71
- Key Update: The free update went live on August 20, 2026, introducing four distinct new cars, 10 engine swaps, extensive tire changes, and more.
- Status: Live.
- Last Verified: August 21, 2026.
- Quick Answer: Update 1.71 adds the Caterham Seven Superlight R500, Hyundai IONIQ 6 N, and two classic Toyota Tourer V models, alongside heavy revisions to tire wear, engine torque, and PP calculations.
The patch 1.71 for Gran Turismo 7 went live yesterday, and it was quite a sizeable update.
In addition to the four already announced vehicles, we have a massive list of car behaviour changes, including tyre physics, suspension modifications, and improved torque simulation.
There are also 10 new engine swaps and World Circuits events.
That said, here's everything added to Gran Turismo 7 with the August update.
Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.71 Cars

Four new cars were added to Gran Turismo 7 with the August update.
- Caterham Seven Superlight R500 '08 (sold in Brand Central)
- Hyundai IONIQ 6 N '25 (sold in Brand Central)
- Toyota Chaser Tourer V '97 (sold at the Used Cars dealership)
- Toyota Mark II Tourer V '97 (sold at the Used Cars dealership)
At just 506 kg, the Caterham Seven Superlight R500 '08 is the ultimate lightweight sports car by the British manufacturer. Despite its size, it is very capable. Producing 263 bhp, the Superlight R500 only needs 2.88 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.
The Seven Superlight is accompanied by three Japanese sedans, including the all-electric IONIQ 6 N '25.
The Toyota siblings share the same underlying platform and Tourer V performance fundamentals with different exteriors.
Both are priced the same at 70,000 Cr. None of the four are particularly expensive additions.
Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.71 World Circuits Events

Three new circuit events were added with the August update.
- Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout No Chicane
- European Clubman Cup 600
- Suzuka Circuit
- World Touring Car 600
- Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa
- Japanese FR Challenge 450
A circuit experience was also added to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Rallycross Layout alongside a new Scape photo location set in the Whistler resort town in British Columbia, Canada.
Everything Else Added To Gran Turismo With August Update

New Engine Swaps
10 new engine swaps were added. The four cars part of the update receive one each.
The Caterham Seven gets toned down after the swap, as the Suzuki Jimny’s 660cc unit makes it less crazy and aggressive.
You’re effectively creating the real-life entry-level version of the lightweight supercar with the swap, however. The JDM siblings receive a boost as both can get a Lexus SC430 Super GT car’s V8.
Physics Changes
There have been plenty of physics changes. A long list, in fact.
Tire physics have been revised to improve behavior during wheel slip, optimize road-surface and rolling resistance, revise tire heating and wear values, and refine the loss of tire grip when Grip Reduction Off Track is set to Real.
Engine torque has also been improved for better response and control over the throttle.
Changes mean Performance Points (PP) values have been recalculated for cars throughout the game, alongside a full leaderboard reset.
Outside of these, you'll find a new online time trial challenge, a new Seasonal Menu with added cars, and various inputs for gamepads and wheels have been adjusted.
